Our Verdict

Soundcore Sleep A10
Rick's Score
8.0/10

Best sleep earbuds for side sleepers. Rick tested four pairs. The A10 is the flattest profile — the only one that works pressed against a pillow.

The Four-Pair Comparison

Rick tested four sleep earbuds: Soundcore A10 ($100), Bose Sleepbuds II ($249), Kokoon Nightbuds ($199), and an Amazon generic ($35). Profile heights: A10 at 5.3mm, Bose at 7mm, Kokoon at 6mm, generic at 8mm. The A10 was the only pair Rick wore continuously through a full 7-hour night without removing due to pillow pressure. The difference between 5.3mm and 7mm is more significant than it sounds in practice.

The Audio Reality

Sleep earbuds are not audiophile products. The A10's audio quality for music is mediocre. For sleep sounds, white noise, and rain audio, the quality is adequate — which is the intended use case. Rick uses them exclusively for sleep sounds and occasional low-volume podcasts. Anyone expecting music listening quality at this profile size is misunderstanding the product category.

Battery and App

Approximately 10 hours battery life — sufficient for a full night. Charging case extends total to 65 hours. The Soundcore Sleep app includes built-in sleep sounds and timer. Rick uses the built-in white noise. The app is functional without being sophisticated.

Best for you if...
  • Sleep primarily on your side and want audio through the night
  • Want white noise without a bedside speaker disturbing a partner
  • Have had pillow pressure issues with other sleep earbuds
Not for you if...
  • Back sleeper — almost any sleep earbud works fine in that position
  • Looking for music listening audio quality
  • Have small ear canals outside standard fit range

Pros

  • 5.3mm profile — lowest of tested alternatives
  • 10-hour battery sufficient for full night
  • Built-in sleep sounds included
  • Comfortable wing-tip secure fit

Cons

  • Audio quality mediocre for music
  • App functional but not polished
  • Bluetooth occasionally drops at night

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the battery last?
Approximately 10 hours per charge. Case adds another 55 hours.
What sleep sounds are included?
White noise, rain, ocean waves, and several ambient sounds with timer options.
Do they fall out during sleep?
Wing-tip design provides secure fit through most sleep movement. Rick has not found them dislodged in 4 months of use.
